Earl Cameron in new movie

Earl Cameron

Actor Earl Cameron, a Bahá’í, has a leading role in Sydney Pollack’s new thriller The Interpreter. He plays a central role in the film, the ruler of a fictitious African nation of Matobo. I haven’t seen the movie, but it looks like it could be interesting — it takes place at the United Nations, after all, and nothing says excitement like the UN General Assembly.

Mr. Cameron has appeared in film, stage, and television (including spots in The Prisoner and Dr. Who) since the ’50s and was recently honored by London’s National Film Theatre, who held a retrospective for the 85-year-old Bermuda-born actor. The BFI also has an interview with him online.
