Arizona Bahá’í artist
Written by mcgee on April 27th, 2005There is a nice feature about artist Duffy Sheridan on the web site for the Tri-Valley Dispatch. Sheridan recently received awards for two of his paintings:

Last month Sheridan, who resides in the Baha’i Desert Rose Community at Eloy, was given two prestigious awards for his portraits “Trust” and “Self Portrait 2004.”
“Trust” was awarded the Chairman’s Choice Award at the Art Renewal Center’s Salon. His depiction of an African-American woman in colorful native dress, with hands gracefully opened, was one of 1,500 entries from artists of 30 different countries.
The article also mentions more about the Bahá’í Faith (though unfortunately the references to the “Desert Rose Community” end up sounding a bit like some kind of hippie commune).
Sheridan also has a site of his own, which features more of his photorealistic paintings, including some of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá.
