Database of Human Rights Violations in Iran
A new website put up by the Abdorrahman Boroumand Foundation provides details of human rights violations in Iran in the form of a searchable database listing over 9,000 people who were murdered or executed by that government since 1979. There are 183 Baha’is on the list so far including Ruhu’llah Rawhani, a 52-year-old salesman who was arrested and found guilty of converting a woman to the Baha’i Faith and hanged in a public square in Mashhad in 1998; and Mona Mahmudinizad the 17 year-old student who was hanged in Shiraz 1983.
The site also includes a good summery of the persecution of the Baha’is in Iran including this choice quotation:
“Baha’i is not a religion, it is a political party. It is a party that was initially supported by the British and is now supported by America. They [the Baha’is] are spies…”Ayatollah Khomeini, Founder of the Islamic Republic (Speech May 28, 1983, Sahife-ye Emam, Volume 17)
(For those of you unfamiliar with the actual teachings of the Baha’i Faith, you can go here to find out what the Baha’i Faith really is.)

I put this site on my blog, too.
Used that same compelling picture, too!

GOD BLESS THOSE WHO ARE MAKING THEMSELVES AWARE AND HAVE BECOME CONCERNED ABOUT THE BAHA’IS IN IRAN AND THE RENEWED PERSECUTION OF THE FAMILIES THERE AND ARE KEEPING THEM IN THEIR PRAYERS. EVERY PRAYER AND EFFORT IN THEIR BEHALF WILL BE BLESSED BY GOD, I AM SURE.
