Pilgrimage Season

Written by ry on January 24th, 2006

So I was just thinking that I should put together a post to let you all know that I’ll be heading off on my Baha’i Pilgrimage next week and suddenly what should appear but this brand new video all about the pilgrimage experience, straight from the mouths of Baha’i pilgrims from around the world. Released by the Universal House of Justice, the video was made to encourage Baha’is from around the world (that would be most of you) to go on pilgrimage. The whole thing is going to be available for download after the 28th of January, but for now you can go here to watch the promo in english, french or spanish (or all three).
And if after that you’re still craving more of the pilgrim-y pilgrimage you can always pick up this new book from George Ronald Publishing. From their website:

Taking the reader on a guided pictorial journey and with over 350 full-colour illustrations, the book invites meditation and reflection. The commentary is by Lesley Taherzadeh, who served at the Baha’i World Centre as an official guide to the pilgrims for over a decade: “As I saw it, my role was to facilitate their experience and to bring alive for them the history of the Holy Places, and then to stand back and let them each have their own individual experience.”

But of course, no video, book or lame blog post can come close to the experience of actually going on pilgrimage yourself, so why don’t you all just get yourselves signed up already?
