The gardens at Bahji in Akko surround the historic mansion where Baha’u’llah resided during the final years of His life and the Shrine where His remains were laid to rest. In this aerial video we are taken on a journey through the gardens, the Haram-i-Aqdas (Holy Court), the Shrine and Mansion of Baha’u’llah, the visitor center, and surrounding land.
Bahji, the holiest place on earth for Baha’is, is the resting place of Baha’u’llah’s earthly remains. It is located in Akka, and in 2008, the gardens were inscribed on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in recognition of their “outstanding universal value” as holy places and places of pilgrimage. The Shrine of Baha’u’llah is the point of devotion for Baha’is around the world and the spot to which they turn daily in prayer.
