  1. I am curious and concerned about what the video sais around the 6 min mark… I dont believe there is anything in the writings that states that we cease to exist if we dont evolve spiritually. If I am mistaken please tell me where… I urge you to look into this as it is a serious statement and can be very misleading…. Thank you.

    1. In my readings I’ve come across numerous passages in the Writings that mention that those who disbelieve/turn away from God and His law/don’t live a spiritual life will assuredly perish. I believe that’s what they were referring to. It’s not a new concept.

      1. I share this with love and the intent to clarify with words of the Faith. Thank you.
        The progress of the soul after death is described in great detail in the Words of the Baha’u’llah and Abdul’-Baha. To simply state that the soul ceases to exist after death if it fails to turn to God in life, for someone who is not a little informed, could be very misleading. Some samples of those writings on this subject are below:
        (note: the writings of the Baha’i Faith and of every religion in the world are available and word searchable in “Ocean’, a free and downloadable search and research tool that is wonderful for finding answers to virtually any question of the spiritual realties and a lot of the material realties as well.)

        The rewards of the other world are peace, the spiritual graces, the various spiritual gifts in the Kingdom of God, the gaining of the desires of the heart and the soul, and the meeting of God in the world of eternity. In the same way the punishments of the other world, that is to say, the torments of the other world, consist in being deprived of the special divine blessings and the absolute bounties, and falling into the lowest degrees of existence. He who is deprived of these divine favors, although he continues after death, is considered as dead by the people of truth.
        (Abdu’l-Baha, Baha’i World Faith – Abdu’l-Baha Section, p. 324)

        Now, as the spirit continues to exist after death, it necessarily progresses or declines: 331 and in the other world, to cease to progress is the same as to decline;
        (Abdu’l-Baha, Baha’i World Faith – Abdu’l-Baha Section, p. 330)

        The same thing applies to the spirit of man. Though death destroy his body, it has no power over his spirit — this is eternal, everlasting, both birthless and deathless.
        As to the soul of man after death, it remains in the degree of purity to which it has evolved during life in the physical body, and after it is freed from the body it remains plunged in the ocean of God’s Mercy.
        (Abdu’l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 67)

        The soul does not evolve from degree to degree as a law — it only evolves nearer to God, by the Mercy and Bounty of God.
        (Abdu’l-Baha, Paris Talks, p. 67)

  2. It is a beautiful introduction by knitting together few passages that signifies Human Soul. I an sure each paragraph can be discussed more especially for those who might be new to the writings of Baha’u’Lah.

  3. The video is beautifully done & we enjoyed watching it but are similarly troubled by the statement that the spirit ceases to exist… The Bahai writings as stated above indicate that the spirit is eternal.
