If you’d like to read more about the general design of Baha’i Houses of Worship, Michael wrote What Kind of Temple is This?. I’ve also written about the soon-to-be-built first seven local Houses of Worship and what they mean for those of living in faraway communities in Baha’i Houses of Worship: A Personal Reflection on the Work Ahead.

The Canadian Broadcasting Corporation (CBC) released a short film about this continental House of Worship, and Hariri Pontarini Architects also produced a short film about Siamak Hariri’s design for the Chile temple.

Temple of Light Vol. 1 and Strive are two albums showcased on Baha’i Blog that were created to raise funds for the Temple’s construction.

Just want to ask what is the time difference in Santiago, Chile and here in the Philippines. I tried to watch at 2:00 in the afternoon here (bahai world news service). There is no live broadcast. The internet connection was weak this afternoon. Or am I wrong with the time? Pls clarify. Thanks.

Hi Criselda,

I believe the time in Manilla is 8 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT) and 11 hours ahead of Chile. At this point, the public opening ceremony has already occurred however it is my understanding that it was recorded and will be posted on Baha’i World News Service in the near future. Tomorrow’s conference opening will be at 1pm GMT which will be 9pm in Manilla and it can be watched on http://templo.bahai.cl/. I hope this helps!

Hi, I’m in Southern California and was sent an e-mail giving a link to Baha’i world news in order to watch the Inauguration of the Temple in Chile tonight at 7pm. HOWEVER, they were no specific that it was 7pm PST

Anyway…I have tried again to connect and an error message came back saying my browser is connected, the Los Angeles link is connected but the HOST server is down. Try again in a few minutes. I have been trying to no avail. Any recommendation?

Hello Rebecca,

I’m sorry to hear about the difficulties you experienced and I apologize I couldn’t respond in a more timely manner.

The public inauguration ceremony was recorded and will be posted in the near future on the Baha’i World News Service: http://news.bahai.org/

The conference closure will be broadcast live on Sunday on the official website for the Baha’i Temple of South America: http://templo.bahai.cl/. It will be broadcast at 22:00-23:30 GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) which I believe is 8 hours ahead of you so you should be able to watch it at 2pm local time. I hope this helps!
