Cloud9: Striving to Serve Through Music, a Conversation with Jamey Heath

July 20, 2018, in Audio > Podcasts, by

Cloud9 is a podcast produced by BahaiTeachings.org, and its aim is to feature interviews with artists and discuss what inspires them to make a positive contribution to the world. In this episode, Baha’i Teachings’ arts editor Shadi Toloui-Wallace interviews LA-based musician and producer Jamey Heath.

Although Nashville was his home base, Jamey spent much of his childhood on the road touring and in studios alongside his family, who managed and produced the hit 70’s musical duo Seals and Crofts. Jamey has lived a life full of music, having performed his first paying gig when he was just 12 years old. As a teenager, he soon began producing music for Latin America, and got his first publishing deal when he was just 18. Today Jamey has built a successful business scoring, mixing and producing music for film and television. He’s won grammy awards, received numerous Emmy nominations, and has written and produced songs for many well-known names in the music industry. While Jamey finds his spiritual connection through music, it is clear that Jamey is driven by the love he has for his faith and family. Jamey seeks to live out each day honoring the work of his grandmother, Marcia Day, using his musical gifts in service to humanity.
