Ridvan celebrates Baha’u’llah’s time in 1863 in the garden of Ridvan in Baghdad when He publicly declared His station as a Manifestation of God. The Ridvan Festival is 12 days long and is also the time of year when Baha’is elect their governing bodies.
Baha’i Blog’s “Studio Sessions” is an initiative where we invite Baha’is and their friends from around the world to come into a studio and share the Baha’i Writings put to music.
In this Baha’i Blog Studio Session, we’re in Durban, South Africa with Anis & Friends who sing “Ewe Umbile La Vumbe Liendalo” in Swahili, which means “O Moving Form of Dust”, and which is based on the Writings of Baha’u’llah.
This song was filmed and recorded in Durban, South Africa, November 2018.
Lyrics & Quote
SWAHILI
Natamani Mazungumzo nawe Lakini wewe huweki Tumaini Kwangu Umpanga wa uasi wako Umeangusha mti wa tumaini lako, lako Ewe umbile la vumbi liendalo Ewe umbile la vumbi liendalo Ewe umbile la vumbi Liendalo, endalo, endalo. Kila wakati Niko karibu nawe Lakini wewe daima Uko mbali Nami Nimekuchagulia Utukufu wa milele Lakini wewe umejichagulia aibu isiyo mpaka, aibu isiyo mpaka, Rudi muda ungalipo bado na usipoteze nafasi yako. Rudi muda ungalipo bado na usipoteze nafasi yako.
Baha’u’llah
ENGLISH
O MOVING FORM OF DUST! I desire communion with thee, but thou wouldst put no trust in Me. The sword of thy rebellion hath felled the tree of thy hope. At all times I am near unto thee, but thou art ever far from Me. Imperishable glory I have chosen for thee yet boundless shame thou hast chosen for thyself. While there is yet time, return, and lose not thy chance.
