Ian Hallmond Interview at Ink of Light Baha’i Writers’ Festival

This interview from the Ink of Light Baha’i Writers’ Festival 2019, features photographer, and Ink of Light festival founder, Ian Hallmond.

Ink of Light is an annual festival that explores and celebrates the work of Baha’i writers and creatives, who all come together to share ideas, learn from one another, and celebrate creative expression.

Ian has been involved in fine-art nature photography for almost forty years, and since publishing his first book of images in 1988, he has gone on to self-publish a further five books of his photographic images, plus collaborating with other photographers on book projects. Ian has also exhibited his work in solo and group exhibitions; on themes that support environmental and cultural awareness. The concept of the ‘Ink of Light–Baha’i Writers’ Festival,’ grew out a need for creative Baha’is to have a platform in which to share, cultivate and celebrate their work. Art isn’t just limited to aesthetics it is also about conceptual ideas and the festival is a means for fellow Baha’i writers, artists, and philosophers to come together and further cultivate the spiritual essence that underpins the creative arts. It is with this vision that Ian sees the festival having a bright future supporting the development of writers, and artists and the promotion of their work, as well as providing a space for debate on the discourse of society.
