Dr. Todd Smith is a sociologist and philosopher from Canada specializing in social theory. He received his Ph.D. from the University of Toronto focusing on the development of a consultative epistemology particularly as it applies to health and illness. He has recently published articles on these subjects in the Journal of Baha’i Studies. Since obtaining his doctorate, Todd has worked with a variety of Baha’i-inspired educational endeavors and has served full-time on both the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Canada and the Regional Baha’i Council of Ontario. In 2011, he moved to Haifa, Israel to serve as the Coordinator of the Office of Correspondence at the Baha’i World Centre. In the summer of 2013, he became the Coordinator of the Research Department at the Baha’i World Centre and worked in that capacity until October 2020. Most recently he was appointed to the Executive Committee of the Association for Baha’i Studies and has, over a number of years, served as a facilitator at graduate seminars organized by the Institute for Studies in Global Prosperity in Canada, the United States, and Australia.
