“Making Vaiola” is a short film produced by the Art Gallery of New South Wales (Australia). It depicts the creation of a work of art titled Vaiola: in February 2020, with the guidance and blessing of grandmother ‘Akesa Fifita, family and friends in Auckland, Aotearoa New Zealand, and from across the Pacific came together to support artist Robin White in the making of a ngatu for the Matisse Alive exhibit at the Art Gallery of New South Wales.
