Here at Baha’i Blog, we love listening to Baha’i-inspired talks, so we were so excited when we heard that the LSA of the Gold Coast had invited Dr. Janet Khan to give a talk at the Gold Coast Baha’i Centre in Australia.
In this talk, Dr. Janet Khan gives a talk on the extraordinary life and legacy of Bahiyyih Khanum, the daughter of Baha’u’llah. Bahiyyih Khanum, given the title the Greatest Holy Leaf, contributed significantly in the early years of the Faith. Her steadfastness during a critical period in the history of the Faith and during her appointment as the head of the Baha’i Faith testifies to the greatness of her character. Continue reading
You know we love Baha’i talks here on Baha’i Blog, and now thanks to the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Santa Monica, California, we’re happy to share with everyone a great talk given by Professor Nader Saiedi called “Identity and the Spiritual Journey in the Badi Calendar”.
Last year, the Universal House of Justice sent a letter to the global Baha’i community implementing the worldwide adoption of the Baha’i calendar, known to Baha’is as the Badi calendar, and in this 99 minute talk, Professor Saiedi explains and reflects on various aspects of its nature and history. We’re always trying to get our hands on Baha’i talks here at Baha’i Blog (taking copyright seriously of course), and in fact one of the requests from our recent Baha’i Blog Survey
was to make more Baha’i Talks available.
And now, thanks to the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Santa Monica, California we’re happy to share with everyone two sets of talks held at the Santa Monica Baha’i Centre.
The first is a series of three talks given by Professor Amin Banani in 2003 on the “World Order of Baha’u’llah”.
The second is a series of 12 talks given by Professor Nader Saiedi called “Text and Context in the Baha’i Heroic Age” held in 2014.
Both were held at the Santa Monica Baha’i Centre, and we are so grateful to the Santa Monica Baha’i Community for not only organizing these talks, but for taking the initiative to record them! Continue reading
Here at Baha’i Blog we’re always looking for good resources for the Baha’i world community to use, so we’re happy to share with you a recent talk by Mr. Paul Lample called ‘The Current Plan and the Community-building Process’.
Mr. Lample gave the talk in August last year at the Baha’i House of Worship in Wilmette, USA, and he covers a number of topics including his personal thoughts on the current Plan and the activities propelling the community-building process forward.
The talk is available on the US Baha’i website, but the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of the United States have also given Baha’i Blog permission to share the talk with our readers, so you can either stream or download the talk below. Continue reading
Mr. Hartmut and Mrs. Ursula Grossmann were the keynote speakers at the recent North Island Baha’i Summer School in New Zealand at the end of December 2013, and the National Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of New Zealand have given Baha’i Blog four of Mr. Grossmann’s audio talks for you to listen to.
Currently residing in Finland, the Grossmann’s are originally from Germany and Mr. Grossmann is a former member of both the International Teaching Centre and the Universal House of Justice, until he retired in 2008.
We’ve been asked to remind everyone that Mr. Grossmann gave these talks as an individual Baha’i, and not as a representative of the Universal House of Justice.
You can listen to these talks by either streaming them live from our site or by downloading them.
If you’d prefer to download the talks to your computer, just click on the link to the talk below and the word “Download” will appear at the bottom right of the audio player. Now just click on the word “Download” to begin downloading the file.
Also, if anyone is interested in the DVD of these talks (which will also include Mrs. Grossmann’s presentations), you can order it by contacting: [email protected]
We hope you enjoy these talks as much as we do, and we’d like to thank Mr. and Mrs. Grossmann and the organizers of the summer school and the National Spiritual Assembly of New Zealand for making these talks available to us all!

A couple of weeks ago Baha’i Blog sponsored our very first event at the Baha’i Centre in Sydney, Australia.
It was a talk by Tom Price called Following the Example of Abdu’l-Baha and we wanted to take advantage of the fact that he was passing through Australia on his way back to the US after speaking at the two recent summer schools in New Zealand.
Baha’i Blog has posted some of Tom Price’s other talks such as The Five Year Plan (which is still one of our most popular posts), and more recently Recreating Ourselves in the Image of the Master.
Abdu’l-Baha, (also referred to as the Master) was Baha’u’llah’s eldest son and appointed successor, and He is considered the perfect example of how to live according to the Baha’i teachings.
You can listen to Following the Example of Abdu’l-Baha by either streaming it live or by downloading it – and best of all, it’s completely free! Continue reading
Baha’i music composer Tom Price recently delivered six great new talks at the 2012 Tennessee Baha’i School, called “Recreating Ourselves in the Image of the Master”.
For those of you who have yet to hear one of Tom’s talks, you’re in for a treat! Last year we posted Tom Price’s talks on The Five Year Plan and it’s still one of our most popular posts ever!
In these wonderful talks Tom Price shares six of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s attributes and looks at how we can learn from them and adopt them into our own lives.
‘Abdu’l-Bahá, (also referred to as the Master) was Bahá’u’lláh’s eldest son and appointed successor, and He is considered the perfect example of how to live according to the Bahá’í teachings. This year also marks the 100th anniversary of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá’s visit to North America, and Bahá’í communities across the US and Canada have been celebrating His visit.
You can listen to these talks by either streaming them or by downloading them – and best of all, it’s completely free! Continue reading
