June 18, 2023 will mark 40 years since 10 Baha’i women were hanged in Shiraz. Their only ‘crime’ was their refusal to renounce their beliefs in a faith that promotes the principles of gender equality, unity, justice, and truthfulness. Some of the youth attending a conference on May 15th, 2016 in Nairobi came together to sing the Bab’s “Remover of Difficulties” prayer in Swahili at the end of the day. It was the culmination of a day full of camaraderie, learning, and a joyful spirit among everyone.
