Baha’u’llah, the Prophet-Founder of the Baha’i Faith, passed away on 29 May, 1892. This holy day is commemorated by Baha’is all over the world and is known as ‘The Ascension of Baha’u’llah’. The final resting place of Baha’u’llah, the Shrine of Baha’u’llah, is located in Bahji (in present day Israel), and is the Point of Adoration to which Baha’is turn when reciting their Obligatory Prayer.
Mirza Husayn-Ali, who is known to the world by His title, Baha’u’llah, was born in Tehran, Iran on 12 November, 1817. Baha’u’llah means “Glory of God” in Arabic and He is the Prophet-Founder of the Baha’i Faith. The anniversary of the day He was born is celebrated alongside the Birth of the forerunner of His Revelation, the Bab. These Twin Holy Days are celebrated annually as one festival where the closely interwoven missions of these two Divine Luminaries are remembered together.
“The Ancient Beauty” is the title track of Elika Mahony’s album created in honour of the Bicentenary anniversary of the Birth of Baha’u’llah. Accompanied by images of the Shrine of Baha’u’llah in Bahji, this song glorifies Baha’u’llah’s titles and appellations.

“The Ancient Beauty” is one of three music videos created to accompany the album:
You can watch “Intimation” here. “Intimation” is based on Baha’u’llah’s description of His first experience as a recipient of Divine Revelation.
You can also watch “Arise” here. It’s a choral piece dedicated to the Twin Holy Days.
