This music video, produced by Ali Youssefi and featuring Jasmine Howard, is based on a prayer by Abdu’l‑Baha in which we are compared to a glass that allows the light of God’s love to shine through to others.
This song is sung in English and Portuguese.
Here is the prayer that is sung:
O Thou the Compassionate God. Bestow upon me a heart which, like unto a glass, may be illumined with the light of Thy love, and confer upon me thoughts which may change this world into a rose garden through the outpourings of heavenly grace.
Abdu’l-Baha
Ali Youssefi is a musician whose songs move the heart. You may be familiar with his global musical initiatives “Unite” or his song “Waves”.
In a video interview with Ali, we hear about the role an artist or musician can play in building community. And in a written interview with him about “Waves”, he shares what he has learned about the process of putting virtual choir music videos together.
Ali was also critical in helping us film Baha’i Blog Studio Sessions in Belgrade, Serbia (where he was living at the time), and from these sessions you can watch him sing “Jedinstvo (Unity)” in Serbian, “Oh Mi Siervo (O My Servant)” in Spanish, and “Know Ye Not” in English. He also sings “Blessed Is the Spot” along with Katie and Deborah Eckert from our Studio Session recorded in Antigua and Barbuda.
