“Mo te Hunga Mate (For the Departed)” by Robbie & Ty

August 13, 2024, in Music > Studio Session, by

Baha’i Blog Studio Sessions is an initiative where we invite Baha’is and their friends from around the world to come into a studio and share the Baha’i Writings put to music.

In this Baha’i Blog Studio Session, we’re in Cairns, Australia with Robbie Daniels-Smith and Ty Smith who sing “Mo te Hunga Mate (For the Departed)” in Te Reo Māori based on the Writings of Abdu’l-Baha.

This song was composed by Robbie and Ty.

This song was filmed and recorded in Cairns, Australia in December 2023.

LYRICS/QUOTE IN ENGLISH:

O my God! O Thou forgiver of sins, bestower of gifts, dispeller of afflictions!

Verily, I beseech Thee to forgive the sins of such as have abandoned the physical garment and have ascended to the spiritual world.

O my Lord! Purify them from trespasses, dispel their sorrows, and change their darkness into light. Cause them to enter the garden of happiness, cleanse them with the most pure water, and grant them to behold Thy splendors on the loftiest mount.

LYRICS/QUOTE:
