Our Story Is One: The Persecution of Baha’is in Iran

in Explore > Themes

June 18, 2023 will mark 40 years since 10 Baha’i women were hanged in Shiraz. Their only ‘crime’ was their refusal to renounce their beliefs in a faith that promotes the principles of gender equality, unity, justice, and truthfulness. This collection highlights Baha’i Blog content relating to the ongoing persecution of Baha’is in Iran.

Hope from Iran 2

July 2, 2020, in Videos > Documentary, by

In this short film called Hope from Iran 2, producer/director Flavio Azm Rassekh shares how the lives of four very talented women have been touch by the Baha’i Faith, and in particular, by the role model of a famous Persian poetess and Baha’i historical figure called Tahirih. Inspired by the life of Tahirih, these women fight for equality and fellowship by making courageous choices in their lives relating to faith.

Following the same thread as the first Hope from Iran film, Hope from Iran 2 also asks the question of whether it’s possible that the solutions to the problems many Iranians seek to solve, actually lie within the country itself.

Check out this interview about Hope from Iran 2 with the film’s director and producer, Flavio Azm Rassekh here: Hope from Iran 2 – A Film Celebrating the Lives of Four Baha’i Women

Produced and Directed by Flavio Azm Rassekh in association with PersianBMS.

Very, very beautiful women! I really like it. As for Iran, it will take a while. I was 16 when my foster father showed us the letters, photos of his colleague who was married in Iran. Even then, Iran was a tragedy! I could tell a lot about it. We always received mail from Persia. Renate was German
