Baha’is believe in the power of prayer and you’ll find Baha’is and their friends, throughout the world, getting together to pray. This is often referred to as a ‘devotional gathering’ or ‘devotional meeting’, and they happen in diverse settings, whether in cities or villages.
In this talk titled “The Adventure of Baha’i Study” given by Mr. Hooper C. Dunbar at the Persian Conference in Toronto, Canada, May 2013, Mr. Dunbar shares his personal reflections on the proofs of the Manifestation of God, our individual duties and responsibilities while we execute the Plans through our collective activities, the importance of reading and rereading the Writings, delving and digesting the Writings, mastering the Writings and memorizing the Writings, the value of mastering the methods of Abdu’l-Baha’s talks to the public as they cannot be surpassed as a model for teaching, and the characteristics of the soul and tests.
Mr. Hooper C. Dunbar was a member of the Universal House of Justice, the governing body of the Baha’i International Community from 1988-2010. Mr. Dunbar is the author of numerous literary works, and he is also an artist whose works have been exhibited at several prominent international venues.
