June 18, 2023 will mark 40 years since 10 Baha’i women were hanged in Shiraz. Their only ‘crime’ was their refusal to renounce their beliefs in a faith that promotes the principles of gender equality, unity, justice, and truthfulness. This collection highlights Baha’i Blog content relating to the ongoing persecution of Baha’is in Iran.
In this talk, produced by the wonderful team behind Bahaiteachings.org, Kayla Taylor, a young Black, white and Hispanic ballerina explores the uneasy tension present in non-diverse environments. Kayla explores the lack of diversity in the ballet world and offers, “We must understand that we are one human family, and help teach others the same thing.” She continues, “So I challenge you: look around the room […] If there is an uneven ratio in any category, ask yourself why. And if the reason is unjust, ask yourself how you can change it.”
