Featured in: Our Story Is One: The Persecution of Baha'is in Iran
June 18, 2023 will mark 40 years since 10 Baha’i women were hanged in Shiraz. Their only ‘crime’ was their refusal to renounce their beliefs in a faith that promotes the principles of gender equality, unity, justice, and truthfulness. This collection highlights Baha’i Blog content relating to the ongoing persecution of Baha’is in Iran.
This video features a Bahaʼi prayer revealed by Abdu’l-Baha for Iran. The prayer is chanted by Shohreh Shahrezaei, the video editing and arrangement were by Babak Yousefi, and Hedieh Shailoo was its photographer.

Do you have this prayer in English, whether official or non-official. I just like to know what the translation is….

Here is the English translation:
“O sanctified God! From the beginning, Thou didst make the earth of Iran to be fragrant with musk; her
soil Thou hast caused to stir all things, yielding forth great knowledge and gleaming pearls. From her
East hath Thy sun ever shed its splendor, and in her West could the shining moon always be readily
discerned. Her land reareth with love, and her celestially tranquil fields are filled with invigorating
flowers and foliage. Her hills are bedecked with fresh and luscious fruit, and her meadows rouse even
the garden of Paradise to jealousy. Her wisdom stemmeth from her heavenly message and supernal
summons, and she surgeth with the force of a billowing, fathomless ocean.”2
2: Passage from a prayer of ‘Abdu’l-Bahá, published in Makátíb-i-Ḥaḍrat-i-‘Abdu’l-Bahá, vol. 2, p. 82. Provisional rendering by by
Adib Masoumian and Naeem Nabiliakbar.
