Devotional Gatherings

in Explore > Community Life

Baha’is believe in the power of prayer and you’ll find Baha’is and their friends, throughout the world, getting together to pray. This is often referred to as a ‘devotional gathering’ or ‘devotional meeting’, and they happen in diverse settings, whether in cities or villages. These gatherings are open to all and are intended to embrace that attitude of prayer and practice of devotion that is universal to all religions.

Tiny Seeds – Children’s Book of Prayers and Colouring

May 24, 2012, in Articles > Books, by

Parenting is a huge weighty responsibility and as Baha’i parents it’s important that we nurture and nourish our children spiritually. Since I am the very lucky and rather proud father of a nine-month old, I’ve been on the lookout for Baha’i materials for children. So I was very pleased to come across a gorgeous children’s prayer book called Tiny Seeds by mixed media artist Misha Blaise.

Tiny Seeds is a book of prayers and writings from the Baha’i Faith and comes with a 10 page colouring book on CD (so you can print it out over and over again!) It’s got some very bright and cute illustrations and is perfect for little ones the world over!

The book is up for sale on Etsy, a site where you can also find lots of Baha’i Jewellery and Handcrafted Goodies! If you’ve got a little one in your life or teach a children’s class, head over and Buy a Copy of Tiny Seeds and support this talented artist by buying a copy.

Hi!

Thanks for sharing this lovely book for children! Unfortunately when I attempted to purchase a copy it said it does not ship to Australia! What a shame!

Hi Joanne, yes that’s a shame. Perhaps you could contact Baha’i Distribution Services Australia to see if they can order copies, as I’m sure a lot of others could benefit from this book. I hope this helps.

Thanks Collis for sharing my book on your blog! I am so happy you like it! I self published this book and as it turns out, printing a full color book is quite expensive. For this reason I can’t sell my books through the Baha’i Distribution Service because the book wouldn’t make enough money for both me and them to profit. People in other countries who are interested in buying can contact me directly through Etsy and I can investigate shipping costs. Also, my books can be purchased in person at the House of Worship in Wilmette!

Collis–If you are interested in providing the coloring book as a resource that is free to download for your blog readers, I would totally support that! I just haven’t figured out how to do that yet from my blog 🙂

Misha, could you please contact bahai books Australia as they now have a print on demand service for self publishing? Would be great to access this book for children
