Festival of Ridvan

  • Ridvan celebrates Baha’u’llah’s time in 1863 in the garden of Ridvan in Baghdad when He publicly declared His station as a Manifestation of God. The Ridvan Festival is 12 days long and is also the time of year when Baha’is elect their governing bodies.

“Unity Prayer” by The Cocker Brothers

May 3, 2016, in Music > Studio Session, by

Baha’i Blog’s “Studio Sessions” is an initiative where we invite Baha’is and their friends from around the world to come into a studio and share the Baha’i Writings put to music.

In this Baha’i Blog Studio Session, The Cocker Brothers sing the “Unity Prayer” based on the Writings of Baha’u’llah.

This song was filmed and recorded in Brisbane, Australia, February 2016.

Lyrics & Quote

O my God! O my God! Unite the hearts of Thy servants, and reveal to them Thy great purpose. May they follow Thy commandments and abide in Thy law. Help them, O God, in their endeavor, and grant them strength to serve Thee. O God! Leave them not to themselves, but guide their steps by the light of Thy knowledge, and cheer their hearts by Thy love. Verily, Thou art their Helper and their Lord.

Soothing to my ears! Love this prayer a lot. A good daily reminder to us all when we go out to teach. Alláh-u-Abhá all the way from Malaysia 🙂

I’ve never heard this beautiful prayer that most of us knows by heart sung like that. So soothing to my ears. Thank you for sharing.
