Mind & Soul Matters is a podcast from a group of Baha’i friends in Perth, Australia. Through conversations with everyday people, the podcast aims to broaden our understanding of mental health and spirituality, and to deepen our insights into the challenges and meaning of our lives.
We wanted to learn more about the podcast so we interviewed its creators Maya Rose, Farah Feeney and Nasim Kasiri and learned how Mind & Soul Matters was launched in 2021 as a means of contributing to the public discourse around mental health.
In this episode, Dr Kynan Feeney, an Associate Professor and Medical Oncologist, shares his insights and experiences of walking side by side with cancer patients and how his personal experience of loss and spiritual beliefs has impacted his work as an oncologist.
Mind & Soul Matters is available online and on all major podcasting platforms.

Thank you for this wonderful, human, conversation. I have been looking into attitudes and rituals around dying and death for the Baha’i faith in the context of End-of-life Doula training.
This was enormously helpful – and reassuring!
How nice to know that such kind people are there for our journey.
