“Ha engem akarsz (Wouldst Thou Have Me)” by Mariann, Lilla, Annamária, Orsolya & Béla

March 10, 2026, in Music > Studio Session, by

Baha’i Blog Studio Sessions is an initiative where we invite Baha’is and their friends from around the world to come into a studio and share the Baha’i Writings put to music.

In this Baha’i Blog Studio Session, we’re in Budapest, Hungary with Mariann Kerekes, Lilla Makay, Annamária Makay, Orsolya Pálinkás and Béla Munkácsy who sing “Ha engem akarsz (Wouldst Thou Have Me)” in Hungarian based on a passage from the Writings of Baha’u’llah.

This song was filmed and recorded in Budapest, Hungary in April 2023.

LYRICS/QUOTE IN HUNGARIAN:

Ó, föld fia! Ha Engem akarsz, ne keress mást, csak Engem; ha az Én szépségemet kívánod látni, fordítsd el tekinteted minden világi dologtól; mert az én akaratom, s valaki más akarata olyan, mint tűz és víz, egy szívben a kettő nem fér meg.

LYRICS/QUOTE IN ENGLISH:

O SON OF EARTH!

Wouldst thou have Me, seek none other than Me; and wouldst thou gaze upon My beauty, close thine eyes to the world and all that is therein; for My will and the will of another than Me, even as fire and water, cannot dwell together in one heart.
