Festival of Ridvan

  • Ridvan celebrates Baha’u’llah’s time in 1863 in the garden of Ridvan in Baghdad when He publicly declared His station as a Manifestation of God. The Ridvan Festival is 12 days long and is also the time of year when Baha’is elect their governing bodies.

#OurStoryIsOne: Campaign Calls for Voices of Support on June 18

June 17, 2023, in Videos > Animation, by

In this video, the Baha’i International Community (BIC) announces a two-hour social media event for June 18 at 5:30 p.m. GMT to honour the memory of the 10 Baha’i women who were hanged in Shiraz, Iran, 40 years ago on that day, as well as to recall the sacrifices of all women for the principle of equality.

This initiative is part of the BIC’s #OurStoryIsOne global awareness campaign.

Baha’i Blog created a video to contribute to the campaign which retells the horrific story of the ten women of Shiraz. Baha’i Blog contributors Michael Day wrote about hearing about the devastating news of their executions and Lorraine Manifold told their story in a stirring poem.

We’ve also compiled a collection of artistic expressions created about the ongoing persecution of the Baha’i in Iran that have been shared on Baha’i Blog over the years.
