Naw Ruz marks the end of the Fast and the beginning of a new year in the Baha’i calendar. Naw-Ruz is a celebration of a “spiritual springtime” that symbolizes both individual renewal and mankind’s revitalization.
This video tells the story of Nora Crossley and her sacrifice of cutting off her long auburn hair to raise money for the construction of the Baha’i Temple in North America, a sacrifice which was heralded by Abdu’l-Baha as an act of “imperishable glory”.
You can find more animated stories, including a vignette about Abdu’l-Baha at Christmas and an anecdote of how Fred Mortenson “rode the rails” to visit Him, on our YouTube playlist.
