Four Seasons at the Wilmette Baha’i House of Worship

April 15, 2016, in Videos > Holy Places, by

In this beautiful video set to music, we see how the four seasons surround the Baha’i House of Worship in Wilmette, Illinois, USA throughout a whole year.

The Baha’i temple in Wilmette was designed by French Canadian architect Louis Bourgeois and opened its doors to the public in May 1953. It is the oldest House of Worship in the world, and the only one in the United States.

That was truly beautiful! Thanks so much for sharing it. Years ago there used to be a slide program in fellowship hall that would be played for visitors to the HOW. As a guide, I would stand at the entrance and play it for the visitors. Your video reminds me of that program. There was narration and music, I still remember a few lines from the program. It went through the seasons like your does. I remember “the paint brush of autumn” and “the fog a touch of mystery” I was blessed to visit the HOW many times and worked at the National Center from 1974 to 1979. Part of the time, I worked in the mail room and the mail room was literally in the basement of the HOW. I have so many memories and your video brought back so many. I couldn’t help but cry from many of them. Good work! I hope lots of folks get a chance to see this.
