The Australian Baha’i Community has published this short video about a regional gathering in the Gold Coast focused on learning to draw on the power of the arts in community life across the region. Friends from the Torres Strait shared how the arts are used in traditional islander culture “from womb to tomb” and are woven into everyday life across the community. This video shows a little impromptu singalong led by Aunty Nay Gabey, Aunty Ina Apuita, and Surum Bon.
In a recent Horizons article, one participant is quoted as saying: “the arts conference was super insightful and I loved that every time someone got up and sang or a group performed – the whole room joined in and it really brought joy to my heart.”
