In the Baha’i teachings marriage is referred to as “a fortress for wellbeing” and family is considered a fundamental and indispensable unit of society and the mainstay of community life.
In this talk produced by Bahaiteachings.org, Baha’i actress Eva LaRue describes heartbreak—“an aching, crippling grief”—following a career low and the end of her marriage. “It left me feeling like a gutted shell of myself,” she says, “someone I didn’t even recognize any more.” To find authentic joy, Eva shares a spiritual process of stripping away her preconceptions and her self-limiting ideas and finding a way to forgive the past.
