“Striving for Coherence: Reflections on Steeling Oneself for a Life of Service” is a talk given by Jasmine Miller Kleinhenz at the the 2024 Association for Baha’i Studies Conference in Atlanta (USA). Jasmine’s talk is summarized in these words:
Just over a decade has passed since the Universal House of Justice shared with the youth that the moment had come “to reflect, to commit, to steel themselves for a life of service from which blessing will flow in abundance.” Through the effective instrument of the institute process, this generation has engaged in an “educational process in which virtuous conduct and self-discipline are developed in the context of service, fostering a coherent and joyful pattern of life that weaves together study, worship, teaching, community building and, in general, involvement in other processes that seek to transform society.” How does one go about making decisions regarding one’s profession and serving the needs of the Plan? Abdu’l‑Baha says, “that which is confirmed is the oneness of the world of humanity. Every soul who serveth this oneness will undoubtedly be assisted and confirmed.” What are we learning about these confirmations? This presentation will share reflections on striving to foster such a coherent and joyful pattern centred on a life service.
