This images post will share art in a medium that I haven’t explored before: 3D art and motion design. The work of Omid Vojdani is captivating, mesmerizing and elegant and I was exceedingly curious to find out more. Thankfully, Omid graciously agreed to tell us about his craft. Below are some of his work, followed by his words about his art, what inspires him, and what words of encouragement he’d like to share with other emerging artists.

Here’s what he shared with us about his art:
My name is Omid, I was born and raised in Bolivia and am currently living and working in Perth, Australia as a 3D artist and motion designer.
I create still and moving images as a freelancer for brands and studios around the world. Using a computer and a 3D software called Cinema4D, I model forms and objects, animate them, texture, and light the scene. I started learning about 3D art during high school outside school hours watching tutorials online and eventually went on to study ‘digital media’ in university in Adelaide. Being such a new field, university didn’t offer much training so I was encouraged to keep self-learning and working on whatever freelance projects I was working on at the time. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure to work on some really exciting projects and collaborate with some renowned studios and brands, such as the New York Times, Nike, and Lexus to name a few.
Outside commercial work, I love exploring techniques and ideas and sharing them on my Instagram. Drawing inspiration from some spiritual ideas at times, I feel compelled to bring them to life and interpret them through my aesthetic.

The very fact that one, given the resources and knowledge, can virtually create anything imaginable is quite a daunting feeling. Granted, I have a lot to learn about many things within the craft.
I think art has always reflected the time we live in. Art can help us get a glimpse into societies and cultures of the past. I believe art and design can also help transform society by contributing to prevalent discourses or current affairs, spark emotions of empathy, compassion, and hope for a better world. It can put the viewer in a contemplative state. I believe without art, this world wouldn’t be as beautiful and meaningful.
I have found that if what you’re doing (creative work) is truly something you love doing, you’ll find the time to develop the craft and strive for excellence. This quote from the Baha’i writings comes to mind: “where there is love, nothing is too much trouble and there is always time.” As young people living in this fast paced world, these beautiful words can be a sense of calm determination for one who is striving to pursue any creative work, knowing full well any creative work requires an enormous amount of dedication and effort.
