- Baha’is abstain from food and drink between sunrise and sunset for 19 days. While this abstention from food and drink is a test of one’s will and discipline, the Fast is not just about abstaining from food. The Fast is, primarily, a spiritual practice.
Baha’i Blog Studio Sessions is an initiative where we invite Baha’is and their friends from around the world to come into a studio and share the Baha’i Writings put to music.
In this Baha’i Blog Studio Session, we’re in Vancouver, Canada with Michele Jubilee Davey Hatcher, Nava Taghvai, Roya Bennett and Marie Celeste Kennedy singing “Create in Me a Pure Heart” based on excerpts from two prayers by Baha’u’llah.
This song was filmed and recorded in Vancouver, Canada, January 2017.
“Create in me a pure heart, O my God, and renew a tranquil conscience within me, O my Hope! Through the spirit of power confirm Thou me in Thy Cause…and by the light of Thy glory reveal unto me Thy path…”-Baha’u’llah
“I have wakened in Thy shelter, O my God, and it becometh him that seeketh that shelter to abide within the Sanctuary of Thy protection…”-Baha’u’llah
Am, Em, G, Bm7
