  • In 1844, Siyyid Ali-Muhammad (known by His title, the Bab, which means "the Gate") announced that He was the bearer of a Divine Revelation whose aim was to prepare the world for a Messenger of God--Baha'u'llah. Baha’is champion rationality and science as essential for human progress. The harmony of science and religion is one of the fundamental principles of the Baha’i Faith, which teaches that truth is one and that religion, without science, soon degenerates into superstition and fanaticism, while science without religion becomes merely the instrument of crude materialism.

Animation Series: Famous Scientists on Reason & Spirituality

Baha’i Blog was excited to celebrate National Science Week! We experimented with all the platforms we use and creating a variety of content all on the theme of the harmony of science and religion.

Each of these three animations, originally posted on Baha’i Blog’s Instagram page, are based on a question about science, reason, God and spirituality, paired with answers from a well-known scientist, science advocate or two:

Other ways we’ve celebrated National Science Week include sharing articles, images, and interviews, and a new collection of Baha’i Blog content on the essential spiritual principle of the harmony of science and religion.
