June 18, 2023 will mark 40 years since 10 Baha’i women were hanged in Shiraz. Their only ‘crime’ was their refusal to renounce their beliefs in a faith that promotes the principles of gender equality, unity, justice, and truthfulness. This collection highlights Baha’i Blog content relating to the ongoing persecution of Baha’is in Iran.
Commissioned by the Universal House of Justice, an innovative documentary film called ‘A Widening Embrace’ was produced about the community-building efforts of the Baha’i world, as seen through the eyes of local populations. Much of the film was created by media teams primarily composed of young people themselves engaged in the work, and now the Universal House of Justice has just released ‘The Making Of A Widening Embrace’, a new 22-minute film which shows, through the accounts of members of these same media teams, how the filmmaking process itself developed untapped capacities in those involved, eventually enabling these young people―most of whom had never operated a video camera, let alone made a film―to effectively document the learning taking place in their localities.
