Ridvan celebrates Baha’u’llah’s time in 1863 in the garden of Ridvan in Baghdad when He publicly declared His station as a Manifestation of God. The Ridvan Festival is 12 days long and is also the time of year when Baha’is elect their governing bodies.
World Peace Films has released a new Baha’i-inspired short film shot in Germany titled “Place of Eternal Mysteries”. It follows the story of a man who leads a disillusioned and dull life after the loss of his mother. At a devotional gathering he comes in contact with these words of Baha’u’llah: “The heart is the dwelling-place of eternal mysteries: Make it not the home of fleeting fancies.” Slowly, we witness the transformation of his heart.
The lead actors of this short film are all members of the German Baha’i community and the movie was directed by Marco Alexander Abrar. Marco shared that the film crew believes that filmmaking is a beautiful art form to share the ideas of the Baha’i Faith. He also kindly sent us the following stills from the film:
In her innermost heart, Sonjel is a stay-at-home parent and a bookworm with a maxed out library card but professionally she is a museologist with a background in English Literature. She currently lives on Prince Edward Island, an isle in the shape of a smile on the eastern Canadian coast. Sonjel is a writer who loves to listen to jazz when she's driving at night.
