Another beautiful talk by Tom Price. Everything he said is logical and correct, but, do humans always act and operate based on logic and reason? The present world situation says a big no!

Tom’s done it again.
Such a mild mannered yet manly voice and charming accent described by some as mid-Atlantic English from that non-existing point in the ocean where there’s neither American nor British English. In fact there’s so much wise advice in Tom’s presentation countering the new atheism that I’m hoping a transcript exists?
Maybe with the text in hand I’ll more fully comprehend what he means about thanking atheists for their new extremist approach of putting down believers and converting the masses to atheism. If I captured Tom’s words correctly, no sure bet, these atheists attack organized religion; to a lesser extent God and spirituality are under their same attack and in the process they make millions of dollars selling untruthful books that lead non-atheists into the darkness of disbelief. Baha’u’llah’s “Súriy-i-Mulúk”, (Súrih of the Kings) cited below prima facie unmasks an alternative understanding of dire warning I feel:
“Know thou for a certainty that whoso disbelieveth in God is neither trustworthy nor truthful. This, indeed, is the truth, the undoubted truth. He that acteth treacherously towards God will, also, act treacherously towards his king. Nothing whatever can deter such a man from evil, nothing can hinder him from betraying his neighbour, nothing can induce him to walk uprightly.”
What seems questionable to me is that we should be thankful to these atheists as suggested by Tom if I’ve heard his talk correctly. I’d like to see a full transcript because there seems to be more at stake and more to be consulted on than his talk presents in that these atheists are virtually evil.

Paul, I know Tom well, and what he’s conveying about “thanking the athesists” is a beautiful message of recognizing the truth in their words. These athesists are pointing out and rejecting valid problems with religion. These are the same problems we as Baha’is strive to fix in the world!

Yes I can see and agree with your frame of reference for I too admire Tom’s presentations and his devoted service year in, year out. Is this the same Tom Price who was maestro at the 1992 Baha’i Congress in New York? During my ‘youth’ year of service in Poland in 1995 there was a wonderful Baha’i travelling group of singers touring Easter Europe called Wild Fire if I recall correctly? Was Tom involved also in that sacrificial project?
I’d greatly appreciate a transcript of his most recent talk on atheism when you’re chatting next with Tom. I have defective hearing which makes spoken presentations a challenge. Some times background noise and recording glitches interfere too. Perhaps it’s available in a book?
