Ridvan celebrates Baha’u’llah’s time in 1863 in the garden of Ridvan in Baghdad when He publicly declared His station as a Manifestation of God. The Ridvan Festival is 12 days long and is also the time of year when Baha’is elect their governing bodies.
We’ve seen a diverse flourishing of online Baha’i-inspired initiatives in recent days and weeks as more and more people self-isolate due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. As Baha’is and their friends around the world celebrate the 12 days of Ridvan in creative ways that are in keeping with the recommendations of health authorities, we’re especially excited to share two awesome initiatives which are taking place each of the 12 days of Ridvan to celebrate the whole Festival online.
The “Is Everywhere” Collective, which brought us this wonderful online Naw-Ruz celebration, is back to celebrate the Festival of Ridvan! They are excited to provide family-friendly programming for all 12 days of Ridvan. Special programs sponsored by the Local Spiritual Assembly of the Baha’is of Los Angeles (USA) will be offered on the 1st, 9th and 12th days of Ridvan but every day in between will also include poetry, storytelling, music, art, dancing, cooking, and crafting—all submitted by friends from across the world!
The team at the Baha’i Knowledge Network is also sharing special programs for each day of the Festival of Ridvan. Short presentations will be provided daily with special extended programming on the 1st, 9th and 12th days of Ridvan. You can watch the events live, or anytime afterwards. Join friends from around the world and enjoy music, arts, crafts and even refreshments together!
If you know of any other online Ridvan celebrations, please feel free to share about them in the comments section below!

Such a lovely idea to have a global celebration like this to bring us all closer. Maybe we should still have these after the pandemic and keep building such beautiful collaborations born out of crisis.
We acknowledge the Traditional Owners of country throughout Australia.
We recognise their continuing connection to land, waters and community. We pay our respects to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their cultures; and to elders both past and present.
