Baha’i beliefs address essential spiritual themes for humanity’s collective and individual advancement. Learn more about these and more.
Baha’is see the young as the most precious treasure a community can possess. In them are the promise and guarantee of the future. Yet, in order for this promise to be realised, children need to receive spiritual nourishment, such as can be found in the children’s classes happening all around the world.
Mind & Soul Matters is a podcast from a group of Baha’i friends in Perth, Australia. Through conversations with everyday people, the podcast aims to broaden our understanding of mental health and spirituality, and to deepen our insights into the challenges and meaning of our lives.
We wanted to learn more about the podcast so we interviewed its creators Maya Rose, Farah Feeney and Nasim Kasiri and learned how Mind & Soul Matters was launched in 2021 as a means of contributing to the public discourse around mental health.
In this episode, we hear from Rebecca, whose childhood dream was to be a mum, but the reality of which was not the fairytale she had envisioned. Bec courageously shares her story of raising three children with disabilities — the devastation she has experienced along the way, her struggles with mental health and how she has reached a place of gratitude. Bec’s story of struggle, challenges of motherhood and her battle with mental health will inspire you. It’s a story about one person’s journey through personal suffering towards empathy and ultimately, serving others who are walking a similar path.
