“Myriads of Mystic Tongues” was performed by the mass choir at the 2023 Australian Baha’i Choral Festival in October. The Baha’i Choral Festival attracts participants from across Australia to sing in the Sydney Baha’i Temple. They perform sacred a cappella music in a variety of styles. Interspersed between the songs are prayers and readings from the world’s major religions.
“Myriads of Mystic Tongues” was composed by Ameli Dziemba and this performance was conducted by Lorraine Manifold. The song is based on the following passage from The Hidden Words of Baha’u’llah:
Myriads of mystic tongues find utterance in one speech, and myriads of hidden mysteries are revealed in a single melody; yet, alas, there is no ear to hear, nor heart to understand.
With the help of Dusk Media, we got a look backstage at what goes into the making of the choral festival, the stories of the singers, and the love and heart poured into the process.
You can find all the songs recorded from this year’s choral festival on their YouTube channel.
