First Light by Smith & Dragoman

July 19, 2023, in Music > Recording Artist, by

“First Light” is a song by Smith & Dragoman about one of the first souls to recognize the Divine Station of the Bab: His wife, Khadijih Bagum. Pure and enlightened, she observed that her beloved husband was not like other men but she had no idea just how much until one unforgettable night when she witnessed His transformation.

Layli has also written about Khadijih Bagum and Mubarak, the Bab’s faithful servant, and their role in the Bab’s Household at the time of His Declaration.

Find all of Smith & Dragoman’s music, including their latest album Into the Fire, online.

In a Baha’i Blog interview, Brett Smith of the band shared with us how he hopes Into the Fire gives listeners a sense of hopefulness for the future and a sense of urgency to act for the betterment of the world.
