“Just Kidding I Respect You – Exploring the Conscious Side of Comedy” is a presentation given by Jordan Raj at the 2018 Grand Canyon Baha’i Conference in Arizona, USA.
Everybody loves a good joke, but do jokes love all people? For centuries the art of comedy has been entertaining audiences, closely responding to the discourses within society. Therefore, in our increasingly aware and conscious social climate, is it necessary for our comedic subtexts to evolve, in order to contribute to a sense of oneness while laughing along the way? In this presentation, Jordan Raj, a member of the Baha’i Blog team, online content creator and communications graduate, shares his thoughts on what makes things funny, he explores what the Baha’i Writings say on topics such as speech and rectitude of conduct, and he offers insights from his own experiences as a comedian and creator of Baha’i Blog’s “WHAT’S THAT WORD” series.
