Blessed is the Spot – The Church of St John the Evangelist Choir

April 21, 2015, in Music > Choir, by

St John’s choir sings the Baha’i Prayer ‘Blessed is the Spot’ by Baha’u’llah.

This is an Anglican Church found in Ottawa, Canada, and the video was uploaded to Youtube by Caitlin Beck, who brought the prayer to the music director because she had learned the prayer as a child growing up in the Baha’i community. She also grew up in this Church singing in the choir and later worked there. The choir now sings it often.

My sister who taught in a convent taught this prayer to the children during their morning devotions. She wrote her own music and it was well received

I think it’s a wonderful thing to hear. The world will use every word revealed by the Blessed Beauty. All we need to do is just make it available to them in a guided form before it misused and misunderstandood..

The prayer is so appropriate while administering the Eucharist. I don’t remember what we sang 40 years ago, when I was an Episcopalian. I remember wearing the robes too.

Anglican Christians do seem to love ‘Blessed is the Spot…”. I’ve known it before too. Maybe we need to introduce it more?
