Ridvan celebrates Baha’u’llah’s time in 1863 in the garden of Ridvan in Baghdad when He publicly declared His station as a Manifestation of God. The Ridvan Festival is 12 days long and is also the time of year when Baha’is elect their governing bodies.
The ninth video in Day by Day’s “Shaping my Day” affirmation series is all about finding purpose!
Day by Day is an initiative from some of the Baha’i Blog team that offers meditations and affirmations to connect with your spiritual self. We hope that repeating the positive affirmations shared in this video will help you to create connections, love and friendship, and make positive change in the lives of those around you!
The Baha’i Writings affirms that the purpose of our lives is to know God and to attain His presence, and in 1954, in a beautifully eloquent letter on behalf of Shoghi Effendi, he counsels:
“The more we search for ourselves, the less likely we are to find ourselves; and the more we search for God, and to serve our fellow-men, the more profoundly will we become acquainted with ourselves, and the more inwardly assured. This is one of the great spiritual laws of life.”
The affirmations this week are:
I trust in the process of self-discovery.
My life is about something bigger than me.
Every day, I choose to align my actions with my values.
I am dedicated to cultivating a life of meaning and fulfilment. I am an active participant in bettering the world around me.
I seek opportunities to live the life I aspire to.
I welcome the chance to learn and grow. I am persistent and determined in always moving forward.
